THE VALLEY

Ojai takes its name from a Chumash word meaning “the Nest” or “Valley of the Moon,” describing its tucked-away setting within the serene valley. Today, Downtown Ojai is filled with fine art galleries, restaurants, small boutiques, craft breweries, and intimate tasting rooms, where you can sample local wine, kombucha, olive oil, and honey while you stroll, or pedal around town. Ojai’s character is laid-back and truly local.

Surrounded by the Topatopa Mountains and sprinkled with adobe architecture, this small town of less than 8,000 residents is home to artisans of every calling.

Every year, thousands of visitors come to Ojai just to get a glimpse of this phenomenon. While other places draw sunset-chasers, Ojai is one of a few locations in the world where you can catch a legendary “pink moment.”
